Panerai![]() Panerai Watch dates back to the 1860s and the workshop was setup by Guido Panerai in Florence originally making precision mechanical instruments. By the 1930s the manufacture of timepieces had taken off and the workshops were primarily used for production of high quality watches. The first significant order that the Panerai workshops had was to develop a range of watches for the Italian Navy for use by their divers. In the early days Panerai watches did not have their own movements and they actually commissioned Rolex to provide the required parts. Gradually over the years Panerai started to evolve and they developed their own designs and gained their own distinctive identity giving you the watches that you see today. All the watches still have the very early day distinctive elements that you see on many of the Panerai designs.
